Star Ulefone U9503 Review
When I think of the Star U9503 I cant help feeling that the MTK6572 is possibly the worst choice chip for this phone. Like any computer a phone uses a chip to run its task so it is the most important part of the phone.
The key feature of the Star U9503 that could possibly explain the use of the MTK6572 is the three sim feature which allows two normal sized sims and an additional Mini sim. Although the U9503 is a cheap phone when considering Three sim phones it's not all gravy. Firstly dual sim phones burn energy faster than normal phones and a three or should i say tri sim phone is that much more of a juice user.
Screen
For a five inch screen 2 point touch is pretty rare and not an asset usually a screen of this size would be five point meaning five different points could pen touched at once. Screen resolution is 854x480 which is less that the quarter HD level I would expect but ok and on a phone sized screen not that noticeable.
But one ace in the hold allows me to overlook my concerns the gesture feature which allows the user to wave a hand over the phone to control movement like magic which is fun.
Camera
Both front and back cameras are 2MP with 5MP interpolation. Interpolation is simply a technique to add more pixels to a photo by matching similar colors. Do not expect photos to be 5MP equivalent as things may not always turn out accurately.

Design
Well like so many Samnsung S4 Galaxy inspired design the U9503 is available in black and white.
So Why the chip is a bad fit?
Simple costing at around $150 you can purchase a cheaper more capable MTK6589 Quad Core chip phone. An MTK6589 like the would have a 1gb of ram the U90503 has only 512 this is just one example of the huge gap between the chips capability. The main benefit of MTK6572 phones is the low price high perfomance seen in phones like the cubot C11 also 5 inches but at around $50 dollars cheaper.

It seems like cost were cut on cameras and screen resolution for the sake of the gesture feature and three sims.Understand that when you look at the Star U9593 its key point is the triple sim capability and for anyone with a use for three sims fine but other than that for the price a quad core phone is so much better.
